UCT Ultimate Frisbee club information:

Ultimate frisbee is an exciting fast paced sport that is suitable for all levels of ability and fitness. It is a sport that is on the rise in popularity. As UCT Ultimate, we pride ourselves in our inclusion and we are one of the only sports where everyone plays together on one team no matter their gender. 

Our sport is one that is quickly growing in South Africa and the world due to its unique nature and its ability to cater to the new and experienced players. If you are a newer player who has not had much exposure to the sport,  we host social games every Friday at 5pm which are open to everyone and allows you to experience the sport in a chilled and inclusive environment where everyone is laughing and having a good time while learning the game.

Our sport also allows those who are more experienced or craving that competitive sport atmosphere to thrive as we as a club consistently take part in South African Nationals tournaments and have a group of our members even take part in the u24 Worlds tournament. As a club we have a long history of success at nationals for our first team, while our second team has had a great time competing in second division tournaments.  As a club we strive to create a balance which addresses both our experienced players’ desire to be competitive, while also ensuring that newer signups are given the resources needed to develop their skills.

Our sport, and specifically our club at UCT, fosters a fun environment where everyone feels included and involved whilst also having professional coaching available to give the best teaching available and allow the newer members to grow in the sport.

Practices:

Wednesday Practice: 17:30 till 19:30
Friday Social Games: 17:00 till 19:30
Matches: Usually Monday nights or Saturday mornings (season dependent)

Membership for 2026

Joining is super easy! All you need to do is login to PeopleSoft, go to “Join Clubs and societies” and then search “ultimate” (our Peoplesoft code is FRI). We are only R450 for the full year. That is (usually) less than one month at a gym!

This fee will allow you to take part in tournaments, attend practices and go on tour with the team to various places for nationals and regionals.
