Overview 

Welcome to UCT’s Surf Club – your go-to for good times, great waves, and an awesome community of surfers. Whether you’re a seasoned ripper or just getting started, we’re all about making surfing accessible, fun, and chill for everyone.

We run regular Beginner Days at spots like Muizenberg, where the waves are mellow, and the vibe is all about learning and having fun. No board? No worries – we’ll sort you out with rentals and tips to get you standing up in no time.

For the more experienced surfers, we’ve got plenty of adventures lined up, from fun comps to exploring Cape Town’s legendary breaks like Llandudno and Kommetjie. Longboarder or shortboarder, weekend warrior or lineup regular – there’s space for everyone.

But it’s not just about surfing – we’re a community. Think of beach days, sunset hangs, surf film screenings, road trips, and collabs with other cool outdoor clubs! If you’re into ocean vibes and meeting a solid crew, this is where you want to be.

How to Join:

Sign up on PeopleSoft using the code WIN. Membership is R500 per year and open to UCT students, staff, and external members.
