UCT Soccer Club Overview

The UCT Soccer Club is one of the most vibrant and successful sports clubs at the University of Cape Town. At the time of writing, its women’s team was promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League while the men’s team were promoted to the CTTLFA Premier League. The club offers opportunities for all players regardless of skill level to train, compete, and connect through this beautiful game. Through a team of highly qualified coaches, the club provides an opportunity for development for both advanced and amateur players. As one of UCT’s flagship sports, our club encourages teamwork, discipline, and a passion for soccer, while providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.

Our club organizes regular social events such as 5-a-side tournaments, team-building activities, and fundraisers to foster connections among members. Beyond the game, we aim to create lifelong friendships and memories that extend beyond the soccer field.

Tuesday and Thursday: 17:30 – 19:00

  • Women's Teams:

Monday and Wednesday: 17:30 – 19:00

Annual Highlights

University Sports South Africa (USSA) Soccer Championships

The UCT Soccer Club participates in the prestigious USSA Soccer Championships at the end of each year, where teams from various universities across the South Africa compete for a spot in Varsity Cup.

Leagues and Tournaments:

In addition to university competitions, the UCT Soccer Club participates in local leagues and tournaments in the Western Cape throughout the year providing players with opportunities to grow their skills and compete in a broader arena. This also includes regional tournaments such as the highly anticipated Intervarsity tournament.

UCT students and external players are welcome.

Beginners, intermediate, and advanced players are encouraged to join.
