Overview
The University of Cape Town Hockey Club is far more than a sports club: we are a community. We welcome all players, from provincial to rookie, to come and join us as we seek to further expand South Africa’s hockey fraternity.
We boast nine teams that compete in an array of leagues. This includes the highest level of league hockey in the Western Cape, the Grand Challenge, for both the men’s and the ladies’ divisions, as well as less competitive leagues for those looking for a more relaxed experience. We also partake in the prestigious annual USSA tournament for both the men’s and ladies’ divisions as well as having multiple players representing the club at the provincial level.

Becoming a member of the hockey club means that you will also enjoy the benefits of being included in events such as the 6-a-side tournament, end of year formal, and other social events throughout the year as well as enjoying access to the clubhouse when it is open.
Joining us is simple! In order to become a member of the UCT Hockey family, sign up on PeopleSoft under the code ‘HOM’. The yearly fee is R3500 with which you are registered with the Western Province Hockey Union (WPHU) and the South African Hockey Association (SAHA). You also gain access to our facilities, equipment, and coaching. Alternatively, you can also sign up for the social hockey club at a yearly fee of only R500, for which you will be able to enjoy communally organised social games that are generally held on Sunday mornings at the UCT astro.
We look forward to seeing you on the astro!
