With beginner classes in term 1 and coached practices every week, UCT Archery Club offers the perfect opportunity for students to learn this unique sport. No experience or equipment required! We’d love to have you shooting with us.
We are home to archers of ranging experience levels practising both casually and competitively. We host internal competitions each term, where our archers can participate in a beginner-friendly and fun environment. These provide the opportunity to learn about competitive archery and develop familiarity with competition structures. This makes for an easy transition into external competitions for those interested in taking their archery further.
The club shoots at 18m, 25m and 30m indoors in UCT Sports Centre 1.
We have recurve bows available for our members to use in varying poundages of both left and right bows. Our archers are also welcome to bring their own bows should they have them. We have the facilities for compound bows to be shot on our indoor range up to 50lbs, or any recurve bows or barebows. We occasionally head to Belville Archery Club for some outdoor practices with our experienced archers. We are a SANAA and WCAF affiliated club
